Royal Purple is a magnificent, very tall lotus with exceptionally large, richly layered flowers. Despite its name, the bloom is not a simple purple—it displays an extraordinary palette of rose, pink, raspberry, and violet-pink, with deeper tones toward the petal edges and a luminous blush across the inner surfaces.
The flower is especially remarkable for its immense, full form. Broad outer petals spread outward in a generous circular crown, while numerous inner petals rise and curl around the center. This creates a dramatic, almost peony-like appearance, giving Royal Purple an unusual sense of opulence and depth.
At the center, a brilliant golden-yellow seedpod provides a striking focal point. It is surrounded by a dense ring of pale cream and pinkish stamens, forming a delicate halo between the golden center and the richly colored inner petals. The contrast makes the center seem almost illuminated.
Its very tall growth habit adds another dimension to its character.
