Mo Yun — 墨韵
Flower Color: Versicolor, Pink to White
Plant Height: Exquisite of Bowl Lotus (Micro, Mini)/Small
Flower Type: Single-petal, less than 25 petals
Pot Size: 6” and wider, 4”-10” deep
Mo Yun is a delicate Chinese lotus with an especially graceful, refined appearance. Its flowers are small to medium in scale, with elegant petals that open into a softly rounded, cup-like form before dropping into an open plate-like arrangement.
The petals are predominantly creamy white to ivory, with an extremely subtle wash of pale pink along the tips and margins. Fine, nearly translucent veins run through the petals, giving them a light, porcelain-like texture.
What makes Mo Yun especially appealing is its combination of delicacy and compact growth. Despite producing a full, attractive lotus flower, it can be grown successfully in a very small pot, making it particularly suitable for gardeners with limited space or for miniature container water gardens.
The pale flower looks lovely against its round green leaves, while the fresh green seedpods add another layer of interest. Overall, Mo Yun has the quiet elegance of a small porcelain lotus—soft white, lightly pink-edged, finely veined, and perfectly suited to intimate container culture.
