Nelumbo Nucifera
The lotus is a beloved flower in India. This large, classic lotus was grown from a wild-gathered seed gifted to us by Ganesh Anandhakrisnan, one of India's leading lotus growers. This is one of the lotus that is seen growing wild in India. It is often called the 'Sacred Lotus of India'. It is tropical so we don't recommend it for cooler climates. This lotus bloomed during the very hot part of the summer for us here at the nursery in Alabama.
