Warner Orozco-Obando attends Auburn University in Auburn, AL where he is enrolled in the Horticultural Doctoral program. His interest in horticulture and plants began at a young age while raising vegetables and flowers with his grandmother and during his high school days while enrolled in a technical program for agriculture in Costa Rica.
Warner has traveled the world studying the lotus. He is using this information to evaluate the large-scale commercial production of ornamental and edible lotus in the United States. "The more you learn about the lotus, the more you want to know," Orozco-Obando said. "I've literally fallen in love with lotus, its culture, history and beauty - so much so that I'm getting my Ph.D. on this one plant." He is the author of many articles about lotus.
Thanks Warner!
We appreciate the invaluable advice and encouragement Warner and others from the Auburn University School of Horticulture have given us.
